Why the HURRICANE?
The Power Box build quality is second to none and it’s certified TUV approval makes it the most reliable product on the market. The Hurricane box uses a digital RISC processor with no time lag while sending data, where most other chips use analogue electronics that manipulate control signals sent to the injection pump or a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) system which converts analogue signals to digital causing a time lag while sending data giving uneven power and torque delivery.
The Hurricane is compact in size through Storage Module Device (SMD) technology, shock resistant and protected against water entry. Most units fit to your car using original manufacturers plugs, they plug in very quickly, you simply open the existing plugs and fit your Hurricane in between; other units fit to your car using special connectors that attach to the original wire on the ECU harness, these clip in very quickly and there is no intervention with the ECU itself – full color instructions are supplied with each box.
With the Hurricane there are no adjustments necessary as each Hurricane has 4 individually tailored fuel maps for your specific make and model of car and uses the modern Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) processing for real-time data processing.
Benefits of using a HURRICANE Digital Diesel Tuning System
- 3-year equipment warranty
- Engine warranty – New vehicles 1 year on engine and transmission.
Used vehicles with max mileage of ~70,000km – warranty up to ~135,000km.
- Most applications TUV approved with compliance to legal exhaust emissions standards.
- Easy to fit and remove by virtually anyone.
- The unit can easily be sold if you sell your car, but also adds to the price if sold with your car.
- Have on and off to suit driving requirements.
Analogue – Digital. Do you know the difference
Digital Diesel Tuning

Analogue Diesel Tuning
|
Accomplished by means of a modern RISC microprocessor with an extremely high degree of accuracy. Uses the manufacturer’s standard fuel map to intelligently program the management of the diesel performance sending the modified data to the injection pump, for improved performance.
|
Accomplished via manually adjustable potentio-meters. These devices have no specific fuel map, but are equipped with a basic electronic unit that manipulates the control signals sent to the injection pump. Two of the potentio-meters adjust the power increase in the lower and upper speed range while the third influences the overall setting and smoke emission

Digital Benefits

Analogue Benefits
|
- Easy to install. No adjustments necessary.
- Always an optimum calculation of the diesel fuel injection quantity with the function of the factory-set map.
- Optimum utilization of the engine’s reserve capacity from the manufacturer (15 – 25% power and torque increase) with minimum smoke emission and minimum engine stress.

Digital Drawbacks

Analogue Drawbacks
|
None Known
|
- Labor intensive and time consuming
- Manual and therefore inaccurate adjustment.
- Too high an injection quantity under heavy acceleration leads to increased fuel consumption and smoke emission and then to thermal engine damage.
- Frequent adjustment required.
